Parish Pastoral Council

Parish Pastoral Councils are a relatively new structure in Catholic parishes. Recommended by the Bishops through the Second Vatican Council they are a visible reminder that all baptised Catholics are invited to participate in the work of a parish. The purpose of meetings is to think about the pastoral issues that are facing members of the community, to address those issues and to further the pastoral plan. The hope is that the PPC will promote and enrich the work of all members of the community in the mission of the Church. It is important to note that members of the PPC are not representational of different parish groups – rather they seek to listen carefully to the needs of the parish community in order to enable to create a hospitable and outward focusing community. Any member of the parish is invited to contact the PPC if they wish to have an item placed on the agenda or would like to make a suggestion for consideration by the PPC to enrich parish life.
