WELCOME TO OUR PARISH WEBSITE

There are two churches, which belong to our Parish: Holy Spirit in Thornbury East and St Anthony's in Alphington. There are also two primary schools. For children who do not attend a Catholic school, we offer a comprehensive Religious Education Program. Incorporated into this program are: the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. We are one Christian Family!

This site was created not only for the benefit of our parishioners but also for anyone who would be interested in our activities. If you would like to become a catholic or renew your catholic faith, we would love to hear from you ASAP! You are ALWAYS welcome to our community! You can even become a member of one of many groups existing in our parish or you can simply choose to be part of the parish as whole.

Jesus saved us as a community and He wants us to worship Him as a community (not only as individuals). So, come and see, experience God’s mercy, compassion and Christian love among us!

How to subscribe and turn on notification bell on Youtube?

Dear parishioners, many of you asked me how to subscribe to the channel and press the bell for notifications. When you look at the channel, you will see next to my name a word "Subscribe." Then tap the bell next to it on the right sight. The bell will appear after you press "Subscribe." If you cannot press the bell, please unsubscribe and subscribe again. This procedure should allow you to tap the bell for notifications about new liturgies. After pressing the bell, please choose "All." Good luck and God bless.

Mother's Day - 10 May 2020

This Sunday is one of the most beautiful days in Australia. We will be celebrating Mother’s Day! We live because our mums said YES to God’s calling to motherhood. Many of our mothers gave up so much in order to raise us up. We would like to thank them and simply say, “we love you”. Dear Mothers, may God grant you His blessing and a good health. May Mother Mary be your model. I pray that you will be always a living icon of our Lady on earth. May your unconditional love for your husbands and children be a visible sing of God’s love for all of us. If our Mothers are already deceased, may they rest in peace.

Litany of Loreto and consecration to Mother Mary

Join Fr Ireneusz in the prayer called "Litany of Loreto" and consecrate yourself to Mother Mary.
This litany to the Blessed Virgin Mary was approved by pope Sixtus V in 1587. Pope Pius IX wrote: “God enriched her so wonderfully from the treasury of His divinity, far beyond all angels and saints with the abundance of all heavenly gifts, that she...should show forth such fullness of innocence and holiness, than which a greater under God is unthinkable and which, beside God, no one can even conceive in thought.” Whatever holiness is found in angels and saints is also present in Mary in an immeasurably higher degree.
